This week please use the blog to review for the exam. This will be the only blog until the exam on Friday 4/9. Feel free to post general or specific questions or thoughts and then respond to each others posts. You do not need to write anything more than brief blog entries but I strongly encourage you to check into the blog regularly to look for questions and to help share ideas to review for the exam. The more entries that each of you adds the better for everyone. Make sure to review other entries so that you have correct concepts before the exam.
A couple of hints that I mentioned in class:
1. Use the review sheet (but don't psych yourself out) it is supposed to help you.
2. Make sure that you have core concepts for each of the sections down, this about how each are connected in the broader American political system, as you begin to connect those large concepts work to include other ideas and identifications connected to those core ideas.
3. Try to connect each area to one another (i.e. Political Parties to Interest Groups).
4. Make sure to review readings and class notes.
Good luck to all!

Can we make it a little bit later ? I think it would be a better idea for everyone to actually go through the list and do the best they can and then meet with a group for any other questions. Maybe Tuesday or Wed night, which is April 6 or 7 because I didn't even go through the 1st page yet... I am sure i am not the only one either!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Diana - the review sheet is quite "robust" and it would be most helpful to refer to when we meet. April 6 or 7th?
ReplyDeleteCortney and I have decided to meet on Tuesday, April 6 during the day(we dont have to work that day) but we can meet at the time that's good for everybody.
ReplyDeleteThe initial place to meet was in Williamsburg in a coffee shop(college is gonna be still closed) but other locations are welcome.
So have we decided on a time yet. The aftenoon is good for me. maybe around 4pm or so. Can you list the location address or is it still on atlantic?
ReplyDeleteDamn I would have joined you but I have a root canal scheduled for 4 on Tues. Anyone up for Wed. Im in Greenpoint but can make it just about anywhere.
ReplyDeletelets say at 4pm at linger-on atlantic-previously posted, or somewhere in williamsburg-what is best for all? call or text me-518-339-7312.

Sorry I missed this. Just got back to NYC. Good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteI missed it too , i was away ...nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! I am so upset now :( There are a lot of stuff on that review sheet :( , i am going to cry !!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteguys i just wanna know what is "news enclave and "political watchdog"
ReplyDeletethanks :)
bro political watchdog basically means that the media is in charge of publishing and exposing everything the gov't is up to , good or bad. the news enclave not to sure though
ReplyDeleteI'm not totally sure about the definition they're looking for, but I think the term 'news enclave' refers to the relatively small number of reporters and pundits who are in charge of telling the rest of the nation what's going on, politically speaking.
ReplyDeleteDiana, i thought you posted that April 6 is good for you? Anyway, we were just answering all the quiz questions at the end of each chapter(the answers are in the back of the book-HA!).
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone and im sure we are all gonna do well!
